Chloroform, also known as Trichloromethane (CHCl3), is an odourless, colourless liquid. In minute amounts, chloroform is a pervasive pollutant of the atmosphere and water. A halogenated hydrocarbon called chloroform, depresses the central nervous system and results in cardiac arrhythmias and liver damage.
